RailAmerica

October, 2009 – geoMobiliti was awarded the contract to develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) for and develop a complex process to collect data for the Real Estate Department at Rail America. Rail America was one of the largest short-line operators in the United States prior to the acquisition by Genesee & Wyoming.  A complete GIS of Rail America’s 41 railroads totaled over 8,000 miles of track.

New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway

September, 2013 – geoMobiliti has been selected to perform a field audit of the 420-mile New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway to capture the locations of all wayside assets and develop new Track Charts for the railroad.  The NYSW operates from Northern New Jersey through Pennsylvania to upstate New York.  In the first quarter of 2014, we will develop a GIS and provide assistance with corridor management.

Montana Rail Link

October, 2012 – geoMobiliti was selected to develop an Enterprise GIS for Montana Rail Link, a regional railroad covering 1,100 track miles in Montana and Idaho.  The Enterprise GIS consisted of reconciling and combining Real Estate, Engineering, Industrial Development, Operations and Sales & Marketing data. The GIS was integrated seamlessly into their existing document management system, SharePoint.  We also linked parcels adjacent to the R/W to the State of Montana’s cadastral website, streamlining the work process.  We digitized and reconciled their 5,000+ agreements to the results of the field audit to locate over $200,000 potential annual revenue.

South Central Florida Express / US Sugar

May, 2012 – geoMobiliti was been selected to develop a GIS, perform a field audit of the right of way and develop Track Charts for the SCFE and US Sugar.  The South Florida railroad runs from West of Lake Okeechobee, through Clewiston, FL, eastward connecting to the Florida East Coast Railway.

Parallel Infrastructure

August, 2011 – geoMobiliti was recruited to perform GIS services for Parallel Infrastructure.  We offer a wide variety of services to Parallel Infrastructure.  Along with being the sole provider of GIS services, Parallel recognized the superior method of data collection and analysis we offer.  We will continue to provide ongoing GIS services to Parallel.

Huntsville & Madison County Railroad Authority

August, 2011 – geoMobiliti was awarded the contract to develop a Geographic Information System and Real Estate based services for property and licensed agreements management.  The Enterprise GIS developed integrated real estate, engineering and operational data.  We also developed a custom set of track charts for the railroad.

Pioneer Railcorp

June, 2011 – geoMobiliti was been selected to perform field audits of Pioneer’s railroads for the purpose of identifying unlicensed utility and land encroachments.   We have developed an effective process for capturing data and Pioneer selected us to put that process to work to increase their revenue from unlicensed utility and land encroachments.  Contact us if you are interested in geoMobiliti performing this service for you.

The Paducah & Louisville Railway

May, 2010 – geoMobiliti was been awarded the contract to develop a GIS for The Paducah & Louisville Railway (PAL). The PAL is a full service, 265-mile, regional railroad running East-West along the northern half of Kentucky.  geoMobiliti was hired to develop a GIS to assist in managing property & licensed agreements as well as assisting in their wayside maintenance programs.  Once the GIS was completed, geoMobiliti was consulted to help develop a process to secure agreements for the approximately 800 wire line utility encroachments.

Accomplishments

  • Use of GIS at RailAmerica increases annual revenue for utility crossings from $7M to $12M annually once fully implemented.
  • Field Audit and GIS of Montana Rail Link identifies $200,000 of unrealized revenue from unlicensed wire line crossings.
  • geoMobiliti identifies over $500,000 in value of unlicensed wire line and property encroachments.
  • The Huntsville & Madison County Railroad engages geoMobiliti to identify utility and land encroachments to increase revenue and greatly reduce risk and liability.
